~ You have heard the tolling of eleven strokes. This is to remind us that with Elks the hour of eleven has a tender significance. Wherever Elks may roam, whatever their lot in life may be, when this hour falls upon the dial of night the great heart of Elkdom swells and throbs. It is the golden hour of recollection, the homecoming of those who wander, the mystic roll call of those who will come no more. Living or dead, Elks are never forgotten, never forsaken. Morning and noon may pass them by, the light of day sink heedlessly in the West, but ere the shadows of midnight shall fall, the chimes of memory will be pealing forth the friendly message: “To Our Absent Members".

~~~ Constance G LaGier:  September 19, 1929 ~ October 25, 2018 (Age 89) 

Dover- Constance G. LaGier of Dover passed away on Thursday, October 25, 2018 at Kent General Hospital in Dover. She was 89. Mrs. LaGier was born in Holyoak, MA, the daughter of the late Stanley and Katherine Gancarz. She was a secretary for Civil Service for several years. Mrs. LaGier enjoyed shopping and cooking and was a member of Holy Cross Church. She is survived by her husband of 48 years,Terry LaGier Major USAF Retired; 3 stepchildren, Denise Martinez (Orlando) of CT; Michele Riley of TN and Christine Blessis of CA; 6 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. A funeral service will be held 11:00am on Tuesday, October 30, 2018 at Pippin Funeral Home 119 W. Camden-Wyoming Ave. Wyoming, DE where friends may call after 9:00am.  Burial will follow in Sharon Hills Memorial Park, Dover, DE. In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations to the Elks International, 2750 North Lakeview Ave., Chicago, IL 60614-2256. Online condolences may be sent to www.pippinfuneralhome.com
